Madeline Warren For Judge Logo

I’m seeking the opportunity to serve as your next judicial officer. I aspire to be a just, fair, and approachable judge. I have been in court before judges throughout California, and I’ve learned the best judges are well prepared, listen attentively, treat everyone in the courtroom with respect, and make tough decisions promptly.

Like anything worth doing, being a good judge is a skill which takes practice and hard work. If given the opportunity, I will dedicate myself to being the best judge I can be for our county.

I attended Westminster College in my hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business, graduating summa cum laude. I ran on the cross country team and was the captain of the school’s women’s soccer team.

After college, I worked a variety of jobs. I briefly worked in finance, earning a Series 7 license. I lived in Matsumoto, Japan, where I taught English to middle school students for a year. I worked as a finish carpenter for my father, who is a general contractor and as a project manager for a small marketing firm. I waited tables, was the head baker at a coffee shop, and coached junior ski racers on the Sugar Bowl Ski Team.

I attended the University of California Hastings College of the Law, in San Francisco, graduating cum laude. During law school, I worked for judges in both the unified family court and probate divisions of the San Francisco Superior Court.

After earning my law degree, I practiced family law for more than a decade, litigating domestic violence restraining orders, high-conflict custody cases and complex financial matters. I was named a rising star by Super Lawyers Magazine for seven consecutive years and became a certified family law specialist in 2022. I am now a Deputy District Attorney in the Yolo County District Attorney’s Office Consumer Fraud and Environmental Protection Unit.

Since 2023, I have volunteered with the Plumas County Superior Court as a Judge Pro Tem handling traffic court, small claims, and unlawful detainer cases. I currently serve as the President of the Plumas County Bar Association and volunteer as both a coach and board member for the Lost Sierra Composite Mountain Bike Team.

I live with my husband and our energetic border collie in Quincy.
